Viridian is our exquisitely hand-crafted oil paint made with an extremely concentrated, high-quality single source pigment. Every tube is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled using only pure cold-pressed walnut oil (linseed oil available upon request) and the maximum amount of hand-ground and richly textured pigment.

Viridian is a cool, deep green made from hydrated chromium oxide. First developed in the 19th century, this pigment quickly became a favorite among painters for its smooth handling, excellent transparency, and intense chroma. It offers a balanced green with a slightly bluish cast, ideal for glazing, botanical illustration, and atmospheric effects.
