Description
Venetian Red is our exquisitely hand crafted oil paint made with an extremely concentrated, high quality single source pigment. Every tube is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled, using pure cold pressed walnut oil (linseed oil available upon request), less than 1% fumed silica as a stabilizer, and food grade lecithin as a natural wetting agent. Every paint is single pigment with maximum concentration and no fillers or extenders.
Venetian Red features a single, natural mineral pigment known for its rich, earthy red tone and fine, velvety texture. Mined from natural iron oxide deposits in the Veneto region of Italy, this historic pigment has been cherished since antiquity for its warmth, opacity, and permanence. Venetian Red is a staple for artists seeking timeless, natural hues with classical character. Its deep, muted red is perfect for figure work, landscapes, and underpainting, lending depth and warmth to any palette. Unlike synthetic reds, Venetian Red offers an organic, grounded feel and blends seamlessly with other earth tones. Its semi-opaque coverage and smooth handling make it a favorite for both traditional and contemporary techniques.
