Sandalwood Lake is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated, high-quality single source pigment. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled, using only pure local honey and a small amount of all natural, pure gum arabic to achieve an exceptionally concentrated and richly textured pigment.


Sandalwood Lake is a soft, light pink made from the heartwood of Pterocarpus santalinus, a tree traditionally used for both fine dyeing and sacred artistic work. This pigment yields a gentle, rose-toned pink with smooth handling and excellent transparency. Its subtle granulation and natural warmth make it ideal for floral studies, glazing, and delicate work rooted in traditional botanical and textile color practices.
