Description
Raw Umber is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated and high quality single source pigment mixed only with pure honey. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, hand packed, filled, and labeled — ensuring maximum pigment concentration without any binders, fillers, or extenders. Our unique formula uses only one pigment and pure local honey, delivering a maximally concentrated watercolor paint.

Raw Umber is a timeless, single-pigment watercolor made from natural, iron and manganese-rich earth. Known for its cool, muted brown tone, Raw Umber has been a foundational color in artists’ palettes since the Renaissance. Its subtle granulation and soft, smoky undertones make it ideal for underpainting, shadows, monochrome studies, and naturalistic landscapes. With excellent lightfastness and smooth handling, Raw Umber blends effortlessly with both warm and cool tones, adding depth and balance to any composition. This semi-opaque paint offers a grounded, organic quality—perfect for artists seeking a classic, non-toxic earth pigment with understated elegance.
