Manganese Violet is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated, high-quality single source pigment. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled—using only pure local honey and a small amount of all natural, pure gum arabic to achieve an exceptionally concentrated and richly textured pigment.

Manganese Violet is a luminous, reddish-violet pigment composed of manganese phosphate. Introduced in the mid-19th century as a non-toxic alternative to earlier violets, this pigment offers a delicate balance between warmth and coolness, with excellent lightfastness and a soft matte finish. Its gentle granulation and semi-transparent character make it ideal for florals, portrait work, and harmonious layering in both classical and expressive styles.
