Lapis is our exquisitely hand-crafted oil paint made with an extremely concentrated, high-quality single source pigment. Every tube is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled using only pure cold-pressed walnut oil (linseed oil available upon request) and the maximum amount of hand-ground and richly textured pigment.

Lapis Lazuli is one of the most prized and iconic pigments in the history of art. Made from the semi-precious gemstone mined in the mountains of Afghanistan, this deep, celestial blue was once more valuable than gold and reserved for the most sacred subjects—such as the robes of the Virgin Mary in Renaissance masterpieces. Our Lapis Lazuli watercolor is hand-mulled from high-grade, natural stone, carefully purified to yield a soft yet luminous blue with delicate granulation and ethereal transparency.
