Description
Indigo is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated and high quality single source pigment mixed only with pure honey. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, hand packed, filled, and labeled — ensuring maximum pigment concentration without any binders, fillers, or extenders. Our unique formula uses only one pigment and pure local honey, delivering a maximally concentrated watercolor paint.
Indigo is a deep, velvety blue watercolor pigment made from the fermented leaves of the Indigofera tinctoria plant or a high-quality synthetic equivalent modeled after the historic dye. Used for thousands of years across cultures—from ancient Egypt and India to Japanese textiles and European oil painting—indigo is revered for its rich, moody tone and natural beauty. Our Indigo watercolor captures that essence with a dark, inky blue that leans toward gray and purple in dilute washes. It flows smoothly, stains gently, and blends effortlessly into shadow tones, skies, and botanicals. Whether you're creating expressive night scenes, historic palettes, or quiet, contemplative works, Indigo brings a timeless, soulful quality to your art.
