Han Blue Oil Paint

Description

Han Blue is our exquisitely hand crafted oil paint made with an extremely concentrated, high quality single source pigment. Every tube is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled, using pure cold pressed walnut oil (linseed oil available upon request), less than 1% fumed silica as a stabilizer, and food grade lecithin as a natural wetting agent. Every paint is single pigment with maximum concentration and no fillers or extenders.

Han Blue is an ancient synthetic pigment first developed in China during the Western Han Dynasty (circa 3rd century BCE). Made by carefully firing a mixture of barium copper silicate at high temperatures, Han Blue produces a brilliant, luminous blue with soft violet undertones. It offers a slightly brighter and less violet leaning hue compared to its sister pigment, Han Purple, and displays a distinctive crystalline texture.

Production Process
