Greenweed Lake is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated, high-quality single source pigment. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled—using only pure local honey and a small amount of all natural, pure gum arabic to achieve an exceptionally concentrated and richly textured pigment.


Greenweed Lake is a bright, botanical yellow made from the flowers and stems of Genista tinctoria, also known as dyer’s greenweed. This plant-based pigment has been used in traditional dyeing across Europe since the ancient period. It produces a clean, radiant yellow with excellent transparency and smooth flow. With its soft granulation and natural brilliance, Greenweed Lake is well suited for glazing, botanical work, illumination, and historical palettes rooted in traditional craft.


This historic pigment is ideal for botanical work, illuminated manuscripts, florals, and light-infused layering.
