Egyptian Fine Smalt is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated, high-quality single source pigment. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled, using only pure local honey and a small amount of all natural, pure gum arabic to achieve an exceptionally concentrated and richly textured pigment.

Egyptian Smalt is a unique, captivating blue crafted from ground, glass containing cobalt—a traditional pigment with roots in ancient Egyptian artistry. This pigment offers a subtle, glass blue with subtle transparency and a soft granulating texture, making it ideal for glazing, layering, and achieving a classical, historical aesthetic in your work.
