Description
Cobalt Cerulean is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated and high quality single source pigment mixed only with pure honey. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, hand packed, filled, and labeled — ensuring maximum pigment concentration without any binders, fillers, or extenders. Our unique formula uses only one pigment and pure local honey, delivering a maximally concentrated watercolor paint.
Cobalt Cerulean is a brilliant, sky-blue watercolor made from a single mineral pigment known for its subtle granulation and cool, airy tone. First developed in the 19th century as a stable alternative to earlier sky blues, Cobalt Cerulean quickly became a favorite among landscape painters for its calm, natural hue and excellent lightfastness. Compared to standard Cobalt Blue, Cerulean is lighter, slightly greener, and more opaque—making it perfect for clear skies, light water reflections, and soft atmospheric transitions. With a creamy texture, non-staining nature, and beautiful diffusion in wet washes, this pigment is a staple in any serious watercolorist’s palette.
