Description
Cobalt Blue is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated and high quality single source pigment mixed only with pure honey. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, hand packed, filled, and labeled — ensuring maximum pigment concentration without any binders, fillers, or extenders. Our unique formula uses only one pigment and pure local honey, delivering a maximally concentrated watercolor paint.

Cobalt Blue is a brilliant, single-pigment watercolor prized for its rich, luminous blue tone and exceptional lightfastness. First synthesized in the early 19th century, this pigment quickly became a favorite among artists for its clarity, cool temperature, and subtle granulation. Unlike ultramarine, which leans violet, Cobalt Blue maintains a pure sky-blue character, making it ideal for open skies, seascapes, porcelain tones, and subtle atmospheric effects. Its moderate opacity and soft granulating texture create expressive washes and gentle transitions, while its non-staining nature allows for easy lifting and reworking. A professional essential for both classical and contemporary painters.
