Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled—using only pure local honey and all natural gum arabic to achieve an exceptionally concentrated and richly textured pigment. Cape Jasmine Blue Lake is a rare, soft blue watercolor pigment made from the delicate petals of the cape jasmine (Gardenia jasminoides), traditionally used in East Asian art and dyeing. Known for its ethereal hue and botanical origin, this pigment is created through a meticulous laking process that fixes the natural blue colorants from gardenia flowers onto an alum base, forming a translucent, plant-based lake pigment.
