Description

Cadmium Yellow Medium is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated, high-quality single source pigment. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled using only pure local honey and all natural gum arabic to achieve an exceptionally concentrated and richly textured pigment. Every paint is single pigment with maximum concentration and no binders, fillers, or extenders.

Cadmium Yellow Medium is a rich, warm yellow watercolor pigment with a bold, buttery tone and exceptional coverage. Made from cadmium sulfide, this inorganic pigment has been a favorite of painters since the 19th century for its brilliance, opacity, and permanence. Positioned perfectly between lemon and deep yellow, Cadmium Yellow Medium delivers a classic golden hue with just a hint of orange warmth, ideal for sunlight, florals, portrait highlights, and mixing clean, vibrant secondary colors.

This pigment handles with smooth, creamy consistency, offering strong tinting strength and excellent opacity while remaining lightfast and reliable. It's a staple for anyone working in traditional, expressive, or high-chroma styles.

Cadmium yellow is shown in the pictured artwork 'Gladioli: Flower Study No. 4' by Charles Demuth in the briliant yellow of the flowers.
