Burnt Umber is our exquisitely hand-crafted oil paint made with an extremely concentrated, high-quality single source pigment. Every tube is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled using only pure cold-pressed walnut oil (linseed oil available upon request) and the maximum amount of hand-ground and richly textured pigment.

Burnt Umber is a deep, warm brown made from a single, natural earth pigment that has been gently heated to enhance its rich, reddish undertones. Historically used by masters from the Baroque to the Modern era, Burnt Umber is valued for its versatility, strong tinting strength, and ability to create dramatic shadows and natural warmth. Its texture and semi-opaque coverage make it ideal for figure work, landscape painting, underpainting, and tonal studies.
