Description
Brazilwood Lake Pink  is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated and high quality single source pigment mixed only with pure honey. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, hand packed, filled, and labeled — ensuring maximum pigment concentration without any binders, fillers, or extenders. Our unique formula uses only one pigment and pure local honey, delivering a maximally concentrated watercolor paint.

Brazilwood Lake Pink is a glowing, rose-colored watercolor handcrafted from the heartwood of the brazilwood tree (Caesalpinia sappan or Caesalpinia echinata), a historic dye source treasured for its vivid pink-to-red hues. Once traded globally by Portuguese colonizers and used in illuminated manuscripts, textiles, and early painting, brazilwood was so culturally significant that it gave the country of Brazil its name.

Our Brazilwood Lake Pink is made using traditional dye extraction methods and laked with alum to capture the plant’s delicate reddish-pink brilliance. The result is a soft, transparent pigment that ranges from pale petal pink to a rich rosé tone depending on application. Ideal for botanical work, glazes, florals, and historical palettes, this color blends effortlessly with madder, weld, and indigo tones for luminous harmony.
