Description

Bone White is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated, high-quality single source pigment. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, filled, and labeled using only pure local honey and all natural gum arabic to achieve an exceptionally concentrated and richly textured pigment. Every paint is single pigment with maximum concentration and no binders, fillers, or extenders.

Bone White is a warm, creamy off-white pigment made from calcined animal bone, a traditional material used for centuries in painting, ink, and ceramics. This gentle neutral offers a natural warmth and subtle ivory tone that sets it apart from the cooler brilliance of Titanium White. With very soft transluscence and a slightly earthy undertone, Bone White is perfect for muted palettes, antique effects, botanical backgrounds, and skin tone mixing.

Historically used in manuscript painting and traditional gessoes, Bone White adds a historical dimension to any artist's toolkit. It softens bold colors without flattening them, and its delicate presence makes it ideal for artists who want a quiet, natural lightness without the starkness of modern whites.
