Description
Bone White is our exquisitely hand-crafted watercolor paint made with an extremely concentrated and high quality single source pigment mixed only with pure honey. Every pan is meticulously hand mulled, hand packed, filled, and labeled — ensuring maximum pigment concentration without any binders, fillers, or extenders. Our unique formula uses only one pigment and pure local honey, delivering a maximally concentrated watercolor paint.

Bone White is a warm, creamy off-white pigment made from calcined animal bone, a traditional material used for centuries in painting, ink, and ceramics. This gentle neutral offers a natural warmth and subtle ivory tone that sets it apart from the cooler brilliance of Titanium White. With very soft transluscence and a slightly earthy undertone, Bone White is perfect for muted palettes, antique effects, botanical backgrounds, and skin tone mixing.

Historically used in manuscript painting and traditional gessoes, Bone White adds a historical dimension to any artist’s toolkit. It softens bold colors without flattening them, and its delicate presence makes it ideal for artists who want a quiet, natural lightness without the starkness of modern whites.
