Burnt Plate Walnut Oil is a heat bodied form of our cold pressed walnut oil. The oil is heated until it thickens and darkens, then cooled to give a rich amber, high viscosity, glossy medium. Thicker and darker than raw walnut oil, it offers excellent leveling, a richer gloss, and a smooth, enamel like flow, perfect for glazing, fine detail, and impasto in oil painting. Recommended for use with darker colors and shades, where its warm tone and rich body shine.
