It quickly gained popularity across Europe for wallpapers, textiles, and decorative painting, where its bright emerald color was unmatched.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBy the mid-19th century, Paris Green became notorious as a “toxic pigment.” Its use in wallpaper led to severse poisoning in homes, as mold and damp conditions released arsenical vapors.
